ARHOOLIES / EDGEWORTH BOX
Aleks Berentsen and Michael Moppert from Basel were behind the studio project THE EDGEWORTH BOX. In 1983 the two founded the Factory Recordings Studio and the label Factory of the same name. Beat Lüthi (previously with The SPOTS) ended up in this studio in 1987 with his new band THE ARHOOLIES. They recorded their first mini LP Trouble there. At the time THE ARHOOLIES gave a concert at the Atlantis club and invited Alexander and Michael. That evening, to their surprise, they played their own version of Cadillac Girl for them. The two were working on some of their own songs with a singer at the time from England, who was unable to meet their expectations. So Beat was spontaneously asked to take over the singing part. Another member of THE ARHOOLIES, Stefan Guggisberg, contributed the guitar. Both versions of the song were recorded in the winter 1987 and then pressed on this 7".
